BIO
Manny Brinton, born in 2004 in Toronto, Canada, is a contemporary photographer and painter pursuing an Honours Bachelor of Studio Art degree at the University of Guelph. Working primarily in spray paint and oil, Brinton’s art is deeply influenced by his partial colorblindness, which draws him to shades of blue. A colour that captivates him with its intensity and brilliance.
Personal experiences and other contemporary artists like Jean-Michel Basquiat inspire Brinton’s artistic career. Through his art, Brinton strives to shift perspectives, revealing that differences in perception are gifts that open the human experience. This vision resonates in his murals on the University of Guelph campus, including Magical Bleu, featured in the 20th edition of Kaleidoscope Magazine, and in his solo exhibition Finding Yourself at the Grey Highlands Museum.
As a young artist still exploring his approach, Brinton relies on intuition and curiosity to guide his creative process. He envisions each piece in vivid detail, focusing on the emotions, stories, and characters they portray, bringing to life his surreal imagination.
